I write nonfiction, fiction, and poetry.
In the past, I helped Fortune 500 companies and other organizations launch new businesses and products. Before that, I worked as a journalist and editor, writing mostly about medicine and health. Over the course of my career, I’ve written marketing plans, press releases, online courses for adults, job aids, training materials, technical documentation, requirements documents, patient education, newsletters, speeches, and all manner of materials that go into helping businesses achieve their vision. This type of work led me to connect with many people in different jobs, organizations, and places. In my creative work, my goal is to connect with the hearts of readers.
I hold an MFA in creative nonfiction and poetry from Antioch University Los Angeles and a B.A. in English and communication (Phi Beta Kappa) from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in New Brunswick. After my MFA, I completed a semester of postgraduate studies in fiction at Vermont College of Fine Arts in Montpelier. After college, I studied literature and languages at Harvard University Extension School and the University of California, Santa Cruz. I also hold a certificate in executive leadership from Cornell University.
Bookworm, lover of sunshine and the outdoors, I enjoy travel, nesting at home, cooking, and learning to document the beauty of everyday life with my camera.
My husband Eddie and I live near Denver and have two rescue dogs, a golden retriever and a Labrador-golden mix.
